Stuart has been part of the management team of Luscombe Maye since 1997 and became Senior Partner in 2009. Now, as Senior Partner, his role is to ensure the smooth running of the firm across all the eight offices but also to look to the future development and progression of the business. Stuart is qualified as a Rural Practice Chartered Surveyor, Registered Valuer and is a Fellow of the Association of Agricultural Valuers.

Prior to joining Luscombe Maye, Stuart worked at DEFRA (formerly known as MAFF) and Cluttons. Stuart joined Luscombe Maye in 1995 having also trained with them under the principal in 1993 to gain his professional qualifications.

“I am very interested in sport and would rather play it than watch it. Work and family commitments allow me time to run, cycle, swim and occasionally play a game of squash. Holidays with some kind of activity built in are of particular interest such as skiing or watersports. I am also very interested in travelling generally to experience different cultures, foods and ways of life. Our last holiday was to France with our children where we spent a great deal of time cycling and enjoying French bread, cheese and wine.”

Director

Amanda has been the Partner in charge of the Totnes office since becoming a Partner with Luscombe Maye in 2006. She heads up the Agriculture and Rural Planning Department based in Totnes and is responsible for a team of rural professionals, specialising in agricultural and rural planning advice and applications, Basic Payment Scheme, grants for subsidies and general agricultural/land management advice.

After joining Luscombe Maye in June 1995 as a professional assistant to one of the Partners, she moved up the ranks after gaining her professional qualifications, becoming an Associate Partner before becoming a full Partner.

Amanda has an Honours Degree in Agriculture with Countryside Management from Seale Hayne Agricultural College, is a Fellow of the Association of Agricultural Valuers, is on the CAAV Council and is also a Member of the British Institute of Agricultural Consultants.

Amanda is married to a farmer and is also involved in a successful holiday letting business and can therefore put a good deal of experience behind her professional advice. Amanda really loves family life at home on the farm with her husband and children; when not being a wife/mother or in the office, she loves nothing more than spending hours in the kitchen producing lunch/supper for lots of people. She has recently learnt to weld and has completed a life-size sculpture of a horse in scrap metal which is now “at grass” at her home.

Amanda has a long–standing passion for horse racing particularly steeple-chasing and Point to Points and spends any spare time at the races.

Andy Joined the Luscombe Maye Lettings Team in August 2017. Having previously worked in the Student Lettings market, Andy is accustomed to working in a fast-paced, demanding and varied environment.

Born in Cape Town, moving homes has become a part of life for Andy. First emigrating to Henley-On-Thames from South Africa, then up to the Isle of Man, down to Portugal and finally settling in Cornwall where he went to University. Graduating in 2013, Andy quickly became involved in the Student Lettings Market and within 2 years became the Manager of a small student lettings company in the South West. The recent jump over the bridge to Devon has allowed Andy to continue progressing his career in Lettings and can now safely call South Hams ‘Home’.

A keen RIB enthusiast and ‘water-baby’ at heart, you’ll often find Andy out on the water exploring the Devon and Cornish Coast and is now looking to expand this hobby into Sailing & Scuba Diving. Andy also has two long-haired miniature Dachshunds called Oscar & Heidi, who enjoy walks on Dartmoor but more importantly being centre of attention wherever they go.
